🌿 The Difference Between Waiting On God’s Timing And Not Being Ready

We often say, “I’m just waiting on God.”But sometimes, if we’re honest, it’s not God’s timing we’re waiting on — it’s our own readiness to handle what we’ve been praying for.
I’ve learned (the hard way) that delay doesn’t always mean denial. Sometimes, it’s development.
🔹 God’s Timing Isn’t Passive — It’s Preparatory
In Ecclesiastes 3:1, we’re reminded:
“To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven.”
That verse isn’t about sitting still — it’s about alignment. When God says wait, it’s rarely an instruction to do nothing. It’s an invitation to become.
There are seasons when God holds back the very thing we’ve been believing for — not because He’s forgotten us, but because He’s fortifying us. He’s preparing our character to match the capacity of the blessing we’re asking for.
🔹 Sometimes, We’re Not Waiting On God — He’s Waiting On Us
You might be praying for the promotion, the platform, or the partnership… but what if God is protecting you from the weight of something you haven’t been strengthened to carry yet?
In Luke 16:10, Jesus said,
“Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much.”
That means readiness isn’t about perfection — it’s about stewardship. Can God trust you to lead boldly in the small spaces before He releases you into the larger ones?
I remember seasons when I prayed for visibility — but privately, I hadn’t yet mastered boundaries, rest, or delegation. If He had opened the door too soon, I would’ve drowned in what I’d begged Him for.
🔹 How To Know Which One You’re In
Ask yourself three questions:
Am I obedient where I am, or only focused on where I want to be?
Have I surrendered my timeline to God — or am I trying to force outcomes?
Am I becoming the woman who can sustain what I’m praying for?
God’s timing brings peace, even in the waiting. A lack of readiness often brings frustration, striving, and anxiety. That’s how you know the difference.
🔹 The Transformation In The Tension
If you’re in a waiting season right now — take heart. God isn’t punishing you; He’s preparing you.
What looks like a pause is often protection. What feels like delay is actually divine design.
When the appointed time comes, it will make sense why the doors didn’t open sooner. You won’t have to force them — they’ll swing open naturally, because you’ll finally be the woman who’s ready to walk through them.
“At the right time, I, the Lord, will make it happen.” – Isaiah 60:22
So while you’re waiting… don’t waste it.
Get ready.
Because when you are, the waiting will end.
